Capital Lab

Capital Institute initiates, invests in, and participates with targeted projects and organizations whose work is of particular relevance to our mission. Capital Lab initiatives typically involve Capital Institute in some type of leadership or catalyst role. We strive to collaborate with thought leaders and trans-disciplinary initiatives of strategic importance, focused on:

1. The transition to a sustainable economic system
2. Creating new theories, tools, and metrics necessary to allow finance to serve the needs of a sustainable economic system and to fuel the transition to a sustainable economy that respects the boundaries of the biosphere while serving the needs of people
3. The architecture of a financial system and monetary systems that serve a sustainable economic system  

The Capital Lab is the place where such collaborative work is conducted. In this way, we are able to bring our knowledge of finance and our unique perspectives on sustainable financial systems to the trans-disciplinary work that the emergence of a new sustainable economy demands. Output from all Lab projects will be widely disseminated in order to achieve maximum impact.
